Pictures of the EMP Museum's Pearl Jam Poster Art Exhibit

@Selionara

In case you missed, the news, the Experience Music Project (EMP) Museum has opened a Pearl Jam poster art exhibit entitled Push Me, Pull Me: Pearl Jam and the Art of the Screen Printed Poster, at Seattle-Tacoma Airport.

We snagged a couple of photos of the unveiling from Twitter, and you can see what Pearl Jam had to say:
Organized by EMP Museum, in collaboration with Pearl Jam, Ten Club and Ames Bros., PUSH ME, PULL ME: Pearl Jam and the Art of the Screen Printed Poster features 85 posters from more than 30 artists including the Ames Bros., Brad Klausen, Munk One, Ward Sutton, and others. These posters reflect the artists that created them, but they also become an extension of the band, referencing the musicians, the venues and cities in which they play, song lyrics, contemporary politics, a world of music, and a love of history and popular culture. But most of all, these myriad posters illustrate some of Pearl Jam’s core artistic values: the desire to foster a climate of creativity, to act as a patron for the other artists, and to provide comment and critique on society and humanity.

The new exhibit is located near gate A1 on the concourse along three walls of the walkway and can be accessed by any traveler post security.

Take a picture at the exhibit and use the hashtag #PearlJamAtSEA for your chance to win an exclusive signed poster.

In a recent article about Pearl Jam Radio, Blabbermouth.net brought to light the reason that Mike McCready was recently in the studio with Lady Gaga and Paul McCartney.  The trio worked with a roomful of musicians to create the soundtrack for the children's movie, High in the Clouds, based on the book written by Paul McCartney and Geoff Dunbar and illustrated by Philip Ardagh.

Expanded Singles Soundtrack Reissue Coming This August

No word yet from Sony, but former Sub Pop band, Truly, dropped the word on Facebook today that their song, Heart and Lungs, which had previously been cut from the soundtrack will appear on a new reissue due out this August.  The movie was just reissued on BluRay this past year, and a 7" single of Citizen Dick's song, Touch Me, I'm Dick, was released last month as a Record Store Day promotion.

Will we get more tracks that didn't make the original cut?  Will any of them be Pearl Jam songs?  Oh man, one can hope!

"Night Surf" by Soundgarden

Rolling Stone is currently streaming the video played prior to Soundgarden's 1994 shows in support of Superunknown.  The song is available on Soundgarden's recent b-sides album, Echo of Miles.
Soundgarden opened most of these gigs with "Jesus Christ Pose" and new single "Spoonman," but before taking the stage, they prepped audiences with a bizarre, semi-narrative short film. The clip opens with close-ups of a children's bicycle and a blue man with an hourglass, then follows the boy as he rides the two-wheeler away from a car, passes life-like scarecrows and enters a foggy forest. Watch this all unfold above.

The music is a song called "Night Surf" written by bassist Ben Shepherd, whose brother Henry directed the clip. Despite Shepherd's specialty, the track mixes in organ and percussion, most notably a crash cymbal that rattles across nearly every beat of the climax.

Vault #5: Las Vegas 1993

For the next Pearl Jam Vault Release, the band has gone back to what was originally Vault #1, the Las Vegas show on November 30th, 1993.  Back in their Basecamp days Pearl Jam made this show available as a digital download, for what, at the time was expected to be a wide-ranging vault program.

Since then they've slowed the release of Vault shows to once a year, and fans of this show were left with nothing but an ACTUAL bootleg, an off-brand white vinyl of the show.

Like their previous vault releases, fans can pre-order ONE vinyl boxed set for $50 + $12 domestic S&H.  CD copies will follow later, presumably.

A quick view of the setlist seems to check out except for the removal of a cover of My Way (popularized by Elvis Presley & Frank Sinatra) with Terry Presley, which finished off the show and was featured on the 1995 Fan Club Single.

Is Pearl Jam Coming Back to Austin City Limits?

Yesterday, Pearl Jam Columbia caught a glimpse of a post on Pearl Jam's Facebook page showing a Zilker Park show on October 2nd.  That post no longer exists.  Was it an error or was it an accidental leak.

It seems unlikely that Pearl Jam would play Austin City Limits two years in a row, especially since they have no other U.S. dates on their schedule.  The ACL Line-Up is announced on Tuesday, May 5th.  Tune in to find out more!

EDIT: Yeah, so ... um, ... this didn't happen.
