Happy Birthday, Pearl Jam!

"The new band, temporarily dubbed Mookie Blaylock after one of the New Jersey Nets player's trading cards made it into the tape case of the instrumental demos, plays its first concert in front of approximately two hundred people.  The set list consists of Release, Alone, Alive, Once, Even Flow, Black, Breath, and, as an encore, Just a Girl which would appear only once more on a Mookie Blaylock or Pearl Jam set list."

Green River Demo Album Coming Soon

According to Steve Turner, we can add a Green River demos album to the long list of Pearl Jam related material that we are waiting for (RNDM's second album, PJ20 boxed set, Chicago 2014 Bootleg, Eddie's Out of the Furnace demos, etc.).  Hopefully, this is one we'll soon see.  Here's Steve Turner's interview on PressureDrop.TV as transcribed by AlternativeNation:
“When Green River ended, I wanted [Mark] to play guitar, 1. because he’s a rad guitar player. The earliest Green River demos are finally coming out, where Mark actually plays guitar on a couple of tunes.”

Mark added, “Only one.”

Steve said, “Well it’s awesome anyway. And 2. I didn’t want him climbing all over the stacks.”

Cheer on the Cubs with Eddie Vedder

Yeah, so you've probably heard ... Eddie Vedder is a Cubs fan.  Tonight the Cubs have started their series against the Mets to *gasp* win the pennant!?  You may have even heard that Eddie Vedder has sworn off October touring, but it's a weak threat given that Pearl Jam only tours in October about 2 out of every 4 years.  This year, only if the Cubs make it to game 7 of the World Series will Pearl Jam's current schedule get in the way.

Still, y'know, he's excited.  He wants you to be too.  The Ten Club is taking pre-orders for Eddie Vedder/Cubs shirts this week.

Act quick!  The pre-sale only lasts until October 23rd.  Shirts are $30 plus $6 domestic S&H.  No guarantees you'll be wearing it to root for the Cubs in the World Series.

Ten Commandos Available for Pre-Sale

Ten Commandos' self-titled album is officially available for pre-sale today at the Ten Club.  You can pick up the CD which will ship in late November or the vinyl (with undetermined release date).  If you can't wait that long, Rolling Stone is streaming their first single, Staring Down the Dust, featuring Mark Lanegan.

"This was the first song we recorded and we finished the rhythm track very quickly," Cameron tells Rolling Stone. "We all liked the sound and feel of the song, but once we heard Mark Lanegan's vocals on it, he took it to another level completely."

"So much music that influenced me came from Seattle," adds Coats. "The riffs Ben came up with for this one are heavy and twisted; not an obvious pocket for a singer to jump into."
Here is the rest of the tracklisting:

1. Staring Down The Dust (featuring Mark Lanegan)
2. War On The Peace
3. Outermost Sky
4. Come (featuring Nikka Costa)
5. You Might Forget
6. Sketch 9 (featuring Peter Frampton)
7. Sporthalle
8. Four On The Floor
9. Aware
10. Invisibility
