[edit] 1997 At A Glance
Pearl Jam did not tour 1997 as much of the year was spent recording Yield. Ed and Mike popped up in June to perform at the Tibetan Freedom Concert (Pearl Jam would play the festival in 1998 and Ed would show up with C-Average in 1999. A few days later, Ed sang with one of his idols, Pete Townshend, at a show in Chicago. A surprise warm up show on November 12 saw the premiere of a few new songs, but by the end of the year eight songs from the new album remained unplayed. November also saw Pearl Jam open four shows for The Rolling Stones in Oakland on their Bridges To Babylon Tour.[edit] June
