- This song is almost always performed solo by Ed, however on a few occasions Jeff has joined him on bass.
- Ed originally wrote this song by request of Tim Robbins, whom wanted to use it for his "Dead Man Walking" film. The song didn't make the cut in neither the movie nor the soundtrack. However a re-recorded version of Dead Man can be found on the 2006 re-release of the soundtrack, which is accompanied by a DVD containing footage of the "Not in Our Name" concert which took place in Los Angeles on 1998-03-29.
