Mookie Blaylock in Critical Condition Following Car Crash

NBC11 in Atlanta is reporting that Pearl Jam's "namesake" and former New Jersey Nets player, Mookie Blaylock, was injured in a car crash today in Georgia.  He was airlifted to the hospital and remains in critical condition as of this evening.  Our thoughts go out to one of our favorite NBA stars for a speedy recovery.

Mind Your ... Whelp! It's Gone!

GrungeReport was savvy enough to catch that AllAccess had posted a release schedule that included the release of Mind Your Manners by Pearl Jam, presumably the first single from Album #10, on Tuesday, July 16th.  It has since been taken down, but keep an eye on your Twitter feeds, because more news is sure to come.

Moonlander, Track #7: I Don't Want to Go to Bed

Tuesday is Stone Gossard Day, thus we get track #7 from Moonlander, I Don't Want to Go to Bed.  Check it out below.
"This song came from a darker place than the other songs on the record. In terms of the lyric, it’s a straight metaphor for leave me alone, lock the door, and don’t tell me what to do." - Stone

Moonlander, Track #6: King of the Junkies

The sixth song from Moonlander, King of the Junkies, is now available on Soundcloud.  Stone brings a little harder edge but a slower tempo to this track.
"'King of the Junkies' was inspired by a documentary that I saw that claimed Hitler was using intravenous methamphetamines through out this dictatorship. I was shocked that this wasn't more widely known, given his manic speeches and psychotic behavior. I figure this makes him the worst junkie of all time. The story I created imagines him in his last weeks." - Stone

#10 Being Mixed!

If you caught this Mike McCready interview on the Bob and Groz show you know that the next Pearl Jam album is officially being mixed.  The band is being told not to talk about it, but they've been talking for at least two years, so what difference does it make.
been told by the powers that be I can't say anything about it yet because we are just mixing it right now... we don't have a date for it yet, but know that it's going to be WAY better than Backspacer, I think... I'm very happy about it.
We heard a 0.5 second clip of Eddie Vedder's voice this morning via a tweet by Joseph Arthur.  Is that part of the album?  Only time will tell.

Moonlander, Track #4: Your Flames

Today's release from the Moonlander Project is one we've heard before.  Here's the video for Your Flames that Stone gave to us five years ago.

"There is a lyric in the song about a dream (nightmare) in which I hit my nephew (which I'd never do). He responds in the dream with an amazing 'that's-all-you-got?' kind of look.

I woke feeling guilty and horrified over the idea of striking him, and comforted by the idea that his flame was so strong and resilient, it could not be put out by me or anyone. It was obviously the latter that struck a chord in me." - Stone
Have a listen to the studio version of Your Flames that Stone released today, and see how it has changed.

Well, the window for a Pearl Jam Fall Tour has tightened up a little more.  Soundgarden has announced four new shows for early September.  This doesn't wipe out the rumors that Pearl Jam may be shooting for a September release for album #10, but one would assume that Mr. Cameron would need to be available for press interviews and late show appearances.
Sept 4 – Helsinki, Finland @ Hartwall Arena
Sept 6 – Stockholm, Sweden @ Hovet
Sept 7 – Oslo, Norway @ Spektrum
Sept 9 – Copenhagen, Denmark @ Forum
