Pearl Jam Radio App for Android

EDIT! So sorry!  The Pearl Jam Radio app is no longer available!!!  The developer explain why in the comments.

If you've followed us for any amount of time, you know that there are a few decent iPhone apps out there dedicated to Pearl Jam, but until now, the apps in the Android market have left much to be desired.

No more!  A fan has just released a new app called simply, Pearl Jam Radio, that will allow you to tap into Pearl Jam Radio, the web-based, all Pearl Jam, all the time, radio station.  It also ties into Pearl Jam's lyric and concert databases, so you can check out the stats on whatever song happens to be playing.

Here's what the developer has to say:
The ultimate listening experience for true Pearl Jam fans!

Unlimited streaming of Pearl Jam Radio 24 hours a day, 7 days a week is now available on your Android device!* Pearl Jam Radio features archival concerts from Pearl Jam’s celebrated career, plus unreleased material from the group’s personal music library and side projects, including solo and pre-Pearl Jam music.

Features:
- Streaming Radio 24/7
- Song Lyrics
- Song Show Lists
- Show Set Lists
It's free for a limited time, so check it out while you can.

    1. Made a setting change in the Play market that caused your devices to be listed as incompatible, and you should be good to go now. Let me know how it works for you (it might take a bit for the changes to take effect). Thanks!

  6. Well, that didn't last long. Google suspended the app today following a DMCA violation report from Pearl Jam LLC and Ten Club LLC. I spoke with the Ten Club lawyer today, and was told basically that every aspect of the app, including the album cover images, lyrics, etc, was a violation. They also mentioned that other apps that provide that content are doing so illegally, and that fact that they haven't also received take-down notices is pure luck at this point.
I plan to continue my talks with them to see if there's a way to make it possible still (ie only for ten club members, or something of the like), but at this point it's down indefinitely.

    1. Wow. Glad I got it when I did. Guess PJ and TC need to also go after every fan web site that hosts lyrics, posters, album art, etc.

That's the thing about intellectual property... if ya don't defend it, ya lose it. Their selective enforcement is leaving them very, very vulnerable.

    1. Hey Joni, the info about the song and the image shown are stuck, is there any fix for this?

  9. I think it is bullshit that they went all DMCA on the developers ass. I remember a time in the not so distant past when the band was supportive of fans trading tapes and such, and was into the whole pirate radio thing (monkey wrench broadcasts)

I guess the problem with this app is that PJ radio is only available if you PAY for a ten club membership, or satellite radio. I can only hope that it was someone else (perhaps XM/Sirus) who objected to this, and not the band members.

  10. I had downloaded the pj radio application, the particular case that is no more available from playstore.I didn't know this and I uninstalled it in light of the fact that I thought it didn't work legitimately,as the song playing data was stuck on one specific and the broadcasting song information was not updated (the radio worked fine, however).I thought on the off chance that i installed it from scratch it would work. And afterward i figured out that there is no more this application :( Does anyone who has it installed in their android give us by one means or another the application file?I don't even know in case I'm allowed to ask such thing in the discussion, however it was a great application.

  11. Lol ...In the event that you cherish Pearl Jam, you'll adore this collection. Incorporates all the greats - "Alive", "Jeremy", "Nothing Man" - and a portion of the more current work - "Last Kiss" being my top pick. Eddie Vedder's throaty vocals still send chills down the spine, and the tunes are extraordinary to listen to, even after over 10 years. This is a comprehensive accumulation, extraordinary for both genuine fans and the individuals who need the "Best of" on the grounds that they've heard a decent couple of tracks. The additional material in the CD sleeve is truly self-assertive, nothing terrific. Furthermore, Pearl Jam's inclination for strange cardboard/paper CD fronts is a touch baffling. It looks truly modest and terrible. Thanks all!
