Matt Chamberlain Announced as Soundgarden's Drummer

The Soundgarden/Pearl Jam family grows even tighter today, as Soundgarden has announced that another Pearl Jam drummer will be serving as Matt Cameron's temporary replacement.  According to AntiQuiet, Matt Chamberlain will be sitting behind the set for 2014 as Soundgarden's drummer, probably playing longer with that band than he did for Pearl Jam (two months from July to August 1991).

Soundgarden will be touring after all of Pearl Jam's currently scheduled shows are complete, so it's not known who will be drumming in the latter half of 2014.  Stay tuned!

  1. They didn't want to reprint those "Chris & Kim & Ben & Matt" shirts.

  2. It would have made more sense if Cameron just stayed with SG and Chamberlain filled in for PJ, no?

  3. I wonder how Chamberlain will affect their sound? Matt Cameron's drumming style is integral to the SG sound, IMO.
