Top Ten Pearl Jam Moments of 2013, #10

PEARL JAM WEEK ON JIMMY FALLON

On October 21st, Jimmy Fallon kicked off Pearl Jam Week.  He invited musical guests to cover Pearl Jam songs, and on the later half of the week, Pearl Jam themselves played.  It was an exciting tribute to our favorite band.  The two performances by Pearl Jam marked their only late night television appearances publicizing the album, Lightning Bolt.

Monday: Footsteps, performed by Chris Cornell and The Avett Brothers
Tuesday: Corduroy, performed by Robin Pecknold of Fleet Foxes
Wednesday: Alive, performed by Dierks Bently, Mike McCready, and The Roots
Thursday: Sirens, performed by Pearl Jam
Friday: Lightning Bolt, performed by Pearl Jam

Unfortunately, the performance videos are no longer hosted on the NBC website, but you can watch two great clips that came from the week.

The first is an interview with Chris Cornell where he discusses Footsteps and the Temple of the Dog song, Times of Trouble, which were both recorded using Stone Gossard's pre-Pearl Jam demo.

The second is Fallon, Eddie Vedder, and actor, Javier Bardem, discussing Eddie's last appearance on Late Night with Jimmy Fallon.
