Top Ten Pearl Jam Moments of 2011, #6

BRETT ELIASON, BACK AT THE CONTROLS
Brett Eliason has returned to our list for a second year.  In 2010, we were super stoked about the announcement that he would mix the bands 2011 live compilation, Live on Ten Legs, but we didn’t realize that it was just the beginning.

The Mixeris back with a vengeance.  Not only has he mixed the first “Vault” release since 2006 in the form of the January 17, 1992 show at the Moore Theatre, but he’s also at the controls for the 2011 bootlegs, which arguably sound better than any official bootleg released by Pearl Jam to date.  If you want to hear, check out the September 11 show in Toronto for free on Google Music.

Will there be more coming from the Vault?  Well, the “Vault #1” printed on the Moore Theatre promo CDs would imply so, but then again, when Pearl Jam released the November 30, 1993 Las Vegas show five years ago, they specifically told us “Check back soon for additional shows.”  That didn’t lead to much, but Pearl Jam's bootleg operation has matured quite a bit in five years.  Here's hoping we don't have to wait until 2016!
