Top Ten Pearl Jam Moments of 2011, #3

THE REISSUE OF VS. and VITALOGY
Even if you’re not the type to shell out for the eight-pound box of wonderful that is the Vs. and Vitalogy Super Deluxe Reissue Package, you had to have some kind of excitement about the remastering of these two albums.

Unlike the reissue of Ten, the band choose not to remix either of these albums because, well … they’re awesome as they are.  Though “Cready Stomp” alone was worth the price of Vs., outtakes were pretty scant with this collection; clocking it at only three tracks per album, but word from the band was that during that time period, they were releasing anything they recorded. To make up for the lack of a DVD with this box, Pearl Jam included the epic 1994 Orpheum Theatre show.

Was the box worth it?  Fans who picked up the Super Deluxe were treated to both albums and the Orpheum show on CD and vinyl, a pocket full of cool collectibles, another mock-up of Ed’s notebooks, and a sampling of Self Pollution Radio on a cassette mixed by Eddie.  If that doesn’t make you at least a little excited, than you can pick up either album by itself or invest in the significantly smaller box containing only Vs., Vitalogy, and the Orpheum show.
